Ripple | Playing For Change | Song Around The World

Ripple | Playing For Change | Song Around The World

If my words did glow with the gold of sunshine
And my tunes were played on the harp unstrung Would you hear my voice come through the music
Would you hold it near as it were your own? It’s a hand-me-down, the thoughts are broken
Perhaps they’re better left unsung I don’t know, don’t really care
Let there be songs to fill the air Ripple in still water
When there is no pebble tossed Nor wind to blow Reach out your hand if your cup is empty
If your cup is full may it be again Let it be known there is a fountain
That was not made by the hands of men There is a road, no simple highway
Between the dawn and the dark of night And if you go no one may follow
That path is for your steps alone Ripple in still water
When there is no pebble tossed Nor wind to blow You who choose to lead must follow
But if you fall you fall alone If you should stand then who’s to guide you? If I knew the way I would take you home La La La La La La La La La La La

  1. Thanks so much for this beautiful piece – whenever I'm discourged or stressed out I can listen/watch and feel refreshed and renoewed!

  2. I was learning to play this on my old cheapie guitar first time it came around, before a lot of the collaborators here were even born. (Yep.Old!) And the song sounds as good now as it did then…

  3. Hard not to cry – this speaks of hope in these troubling times.
One way or another, this darkness got to give.
Robert Hunter's poetry has taught me so much.

  4. Zen into real life music. For the ones who can see, and for you to see…
Long live Robert Hunter. The Great Wave of the Fundamental New Age that made possible the actual best worlds, is ending. We should register them with all the incredible tools we now have available, many, thanks to people like the Dead and the Rest.
I we pay attention to the invisible, to the intangible, we then know the wayโ€ฆ and can show others, but you have to take them by the handโ€ฆ for its dark now…

  5. david hidalgo's voice is so perfect for this , But … when marisoul's harmony comes in the tears start to flow

  6. In addition to all the wonderful things already mentioned about this film, I have to give a shout-out to the producers who chose such beautiful and unique settings to place all these fantastic musicians, and the cinematographers who captured it all so perfectly.

  7. I have a weekly Men's Bible, Coffee, and Biscuits meeting at my church at 6:00 AM every Tuesday morning and we watched this "Ripple" tribute video with Lyrics by Robert Hunter. Are the Lyrics spiritual? I.E. these lyrics "…โ€ฆ Reach out your hand if your cup be empty, If your cup is full may it be again. Let it be known there is a fountain that was not made by the hands of men ". We all thought they could be. I'm 71 now and grew up mostly on pop rock, and Country music, I've never bought or listened to the Grateful Dead music but now I may have to buy one of their albums.

  8. I love these videos. Maybe, just maybe, there is hope for us. Music has a way of bringing people together. Peace to All

  9. just absolutely wonderful ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

  10. Thanks for keeping this project alive. Last video I saw from this project was Stand by me. And now checking the new stuff. Wow, really magical folks. Thank You!

  12. First of all, I know the concept is "Song Around The World". Wouldn't have been wonderful to assemble all of these talented musicians and singers together in one place to perform this live as a group? I've lost track how many times I've re-watched this outstanding rendition of a great song.

  13. This is SO DAMNED COOL. I LOVE these world music projects.
I admit the coolness of this version made me shed a tear of joy.

  14. Holy moley! Just got around to watching this for the first time. You can always expect great musicians on these Playing for Change videos – but I certainly wasn't thinking I'd see a few of those faces I saw! If you haven't watched it yet, I won't spoil it for you. How fun.

  15. You'll never see Change happen when Ignorant Socialists run your Country…Look how Obama's Pal Hugo Chavez eviscerated Venezuela…Do you see thousands of Refugees walking thousands of miles to get there? Trump USA 2020.

  16. My first Grateful Dead concert was at Holy Ghost Hall, Walnut Creek, California in 1966. On their bass drum were the words "Property of the Hell's Angels".
